Hilliary and Wade tied the knot on July Fourth Weekend, and there are literally details details details that I need to show y’all. The invitation flat-lays were so classic and beautifully put together. I always love this part of the day because excitement is so high for everyone and the bride is doing her thing and getting ready for the big day.
The bridal party got ready at Jubilee Suites in Fairhope, Alabama and it was the perfect little inn! The balcony and all-white walls really won me over since it was my first time shooting here. If you know me, you know white is my favorite color! It also helps that it’s right on the bay so the views are stunning.
Brianna was the second shooter for the day and Adrienne was the third shooter. Although Brianna has re-located to Arkansas, she still gets to come from time to time so that makes me a little less sad when I think about her not being right around the corner from me like she used to be.
The first look took place in the courtyard which was such a pretty little spot! Hilliary absolutely rocked her “something blue”. I mean LOOK at her shoes! Her bouquet definitely made it to my top favorites list because Peonies are my favorite flower and of course, it was all-white. Dreams and goals. Hilliary’s dress just completely knocked it out of the park. It was so unique and fit her like it was made just for her. It looked perfect on her!
Hilliary and Wade brought their adorable dog along and just look at his little doggie bandana. I’m in love! Although it was a hot day to be a wedding photographer in Fairhope, I had the best clients with awesome attitudes about this hot, summer day. And the dog was happy so of course, we were happy.
One of my favorite pre-ceremony pictures is of Hilliary and her mom while she was helping her to get in her dress. This picture just speaks volumes of their relationship and is something I am trying to cultivate in my life with my own girls.
The bridesmaids wore a pretty navy color which reminded me of my own colors at mine and Andrew’s wedding. That’s just proof that navy is a classic color and will remain in style for years to come. The bridesmaids also had a pop of pink in their bouquets to accentuate those bright summer colors. It was a little overcast, but that totally worked in our favor for the bridal party pictures near the bay with no harsh sunlight. I also saw a past bride of mine in the wedding party. I absolutely love getting to connect with my brides because they are a part of my photography family!
The ceremony took place at St. Francis at the Point in Fairhope, Alabama. I absolutely love this church! The ceilings are so tall and white with wooden beams and it makes for the most beautiful pictures. Hilliary’s brother walked her down the aisle. She told me that they were best friends and I loved that she was able to honor their relationship in that way.
My favorite part of the ceremony was when Hilliary and Wade did communion together and ended with a worship song. They kept Christ first and it’s only the beginning of their story. May that be an example to all those getting married to place Christ at the forefront of marriage.
It wouldn’t be a Southern wedding without some trolley shots, some pictures outside of the church with the newlyweds, and of course, a good veil toss. Every bride needs a good veil photo and I am here to deliver!
The reception took place at Rock Creek Golf Club and since it was July Fourth weekend, the guests were provided with red, white, and blue lanyards and a patriotic sparkler exit. My good friend, Melissa Munger, did a live painting for the bride and groom, and let me tell you, these paintings are out of this world! Make sure to check out her Instagram account to see the painting of Hilliary and Wade.
I thought I’d end this blog post with a quote from Walt Whitman.
“We were together . I forget the rest.”
In years to come, Hilliary and Wade might not remember every detail of their wedding, every face that was there, and every word spoken to them; but I hope these pictures can always remind them of the love that they share and that the beauty of their wedding day is just a small piece of their story to come.
