There are a few locations in Fairhope that never disappoint—and Orange Street Pier is absolutely one of them. Between the moss-draped oak trees, the bluff overlooking the bay, and the pier stretching into Mobile Bay, it’s one of my favorite places for engagement photos. It’s peaceful, open to the public, and filled with charm. Whether it’s sunrise or sunset, this spot is always a winner.
1. The Mossy Trees
The oak trees that line the streets near the pier are classic Fairhope—full of Southern charm and dripping with Spanish moss. They add such a romantic, timeless feel to photos.
2. The Bluff Along the Bay
Just a short walk from the pier, there’s a bluff that overlooks the water. It’s perfect for those wide, scenic shots that capture the full beauty of the bay. The light reflecting off the water in the evening is just stunning.
3. The Pier Itself
You can’t beat those views of Mobile Bay. Whether we’re walking hand-in-hand down the pier or catching a quiet moment at the end, it’s always one of my favorite spots to shoot. It has that small-town coastal feel that makes Fairhope so special.
4. The Beach Access
A lot of people don’t realize there’s a small sandy area near the pier—perfect for barefoot photos along the shoreline. It’s an easy way to get beach-style engagement photos without leaving town.
5. Variety, All in One Place
From mossy trees and grassy areas to open water and sunset views, Orange Street Pier gives so much variety in one session. It’s ideal if you want a gallery with multiple looks without driving between locations.
6. Beautiful Light at Any Time of Day
I’ve photographed here during both sunrise and sunset, and it’s beautiful every single time. The sunsets over the bay are incredible, but the soft morning light is equally dreamy.
Mulan and Will’s engagement session at Orange Street Pier was the sweetest. The weather was perfect, the light was golden, and their connection was so natural. They laughed, twirled, and enjoyed the views while I captured the quiet moments in between. I love sessions like this—where the couple feels completely at ease and the beauty of Fairhope does the rest.
If you’re dreaming of engagement photos that feel coastal, romantic, and timeless, Orange Street Pier truly has it all. It’s one of those places that perfectly captures the heart of Fairhope—beautiful, peaceful, and full of Southern charm.
