One of the highlights of being a wedding photographer in Mobile, Alabama is getting to meet and photograph couples like Ann Stewart and Mark. They got married last weekend, and I am still obsessing over each and every picture.
I first met Ann Stewart because I had previously worked with her sister, Kathleen, and her husband Trey when they got married in Mobile, Alabama. I loved getting to be a part of another wedding in this sweet family and getting to reconnect with a previous bride and groom.
I’m so happy that Brianna was able to capture some moments of the groom and his groomsmen at The Blue Gill Restaurant. Ann Stewart really wanted the guys to be able to relax and have some fun before the ceremony, and I thought that was so special!
While the guys were eating, the bride and her bridesmaids stayed at Ann Stewart’s house to get ready. I thought it was so sweet to watch the bride at her home with her mom and sisters. This room was literally made for a wedding day. The natural light was a photographer’s dream with all of the beautiful, natural light cascading through the windows. I can never have too many big windows, so that was a huge plus! Ann Stewart and Mark wanted the bridesmaids to pick their own dresses within a certain color scheme and they turned out absolutely gorgeous. I’m living for all of these pastels.
What a sentimental day being able to take almost all of the pre-ceremony photos at Ann Stewart’s house. There’s just something so unique and memorable about being home-not just a building. Not just a plot of land. But a place you can always go back to remember the first moments of your wedding day. I know these photos will be cherished forever because home is the most valuable possession you can have. ❤️
I’m so lucky to have seen Mark’s face during the first look. If you can’t tell, I’m totally biased to first looks, because it’s so intimate and personal. It also gave them plenty of time to get all the pictures they wanted before the ceremony.
More about Ann Stewart and Mark’s Mobile Alabama Wedding
The ceremony was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the reception took place at the Country Club in Mobile. Everything about the Country Club is so individual to the esthetics of Mobile, which is why I love shooting there so much. It was the prettiest I’ve ever seen it at this location. What we thought might be a chilly day, ended up being the perfect weather with plenty of sunshine. Elizabeth’s Garden was the florist for the wedding and I mean- just look at these floral chandeliers. Seriously jaw-dropping!
My favorite pictures of the day were right at golden hour at the Country Club of Mobile with the bride and groom. The light couldn’t have been more perfect and the weather is what every bride dreams of for their wedding day. We only had a few minutes with this light, but it was just enough time to get these perfect shots.
A few other highlights from this Mobile, Alabama wedding were the touches of Mardi Gras throughout the day along with the family’s 1986 convertible getaway car. I love the creativity of Ann Stewart and Mark and their thoughtfulness throughout their wedding day.
Weddings like this are what every little girl grows up dreaming about. My favorite thing about this wedding was the emphasis on family and the way the bride and groom inspired all those around them to love and be loved. It made my job as a Mobile, Alabama wedding photographer that much more special.
Home, family, love. This is what matters. I hope every couple remembers that, at the end of the day, this is the number one priority. In the midst of work, wedding planning, school, children, whatever it may be that keeps our hearts and minds busy, home is the reason for it all. ❤️
