So I know I already shared photos from our time in Joshua Tree and San Juan Capistrano… but I couldn’t wrap up our California trip without one last post. These are the “everything else” moments—the in-between snapshots that honestly made up some of my favorite parts of the trip.
This batch of photos is from our time in Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, and Catalina Island. Most were taken while hiking—Crystal Cove and Catalina Island gave us the most breathtaking views, and I couldn’t stop snapping photos.
Our favorite hike of the entire trip was on Catalina Island. It was the longest one we did and had the most elevation, but it was so worth it. The trail was mostly shaded, super peaceful, and felt tucked away in the mountains. We barely saw other people, which made it feel like our own little adventure. The views were stunning the entire way—I kept stopping just to soak it all in.
Also… I saw a roadrunner for the first time! Total highlight.
And then there was parasailing in Newport Beach—a bucket list item I finally got to check off! I’ve always wanted to do it, and Andrew made it happen on this trip. Not gonna lie—I was a little scared and definitely screamed more than once—but it was so much fun and the views from up there were unreal.
When it comes to food, we got to enjoy two standout meals with friends: North Italia and Kalbi Social Club, a Korean BBQ spot in Irvine. It was actually our first time trying Korean BBQ, and it was a total hit. The food was amazing, but honestly, the best part was just being together—laughing, catching up, and sharing good food with even better people.
And of course, I’ll never get tired of being near the water. The Catalina harbor, the sailboats, the charming buildings… it felt like a little taste of Europe. One of my favorite memories was sitting at a café on the harbor, eating lunch with Andrew and just soaking in the view. So simple, but so special.
This trip was packed with beauty, adventure, and slow moments that I’ll carry with me for a long time. Here’s a little photo roundup from our time on the coast—grateful for every single bit of it. 💛
