Anna and Kendall’s wedding at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church was as DREAM! Their wedding was originally scheduled to take place in April, but because of Covid it had to be postponed to August. It was a long time coming. One of the things that stood out to me was the fact that even though Anna and Kendall had to move things around, they had the best spirit about it. Moving your wedding date is a bride’s worst nightmare, and even still, I think Anna and Kendall were one of the most joyful couples I have EVER worked with. Anna was all smiles all day.
Both of them were emotional during the first look, and that just showed me how much this day meant to them. After months and months of waiting, and overcoming many things that most couples don’t have to deal with like long distance, Kendall being on a submarine with no communication for months, deployment, Covid, and more, they were just so thankful to be able to commit the rest of their lives together. Capturing that moment was the highlight of the day. Anna and Kendall gave each other a Bible for their wedding gift, I thought that was so sweet that they were both thinking the same thing. It is clear that they want to put Christ first in their marriage.
The wedding party was so fun, and were a blast to photograph. I love getting to work with large wedding parties especially when they like to have a good time.
Anna was detail oriented, and that made this photographer so happy. I love how much thought and detail she put in each decision for the wedding day. She brought a custom ring box, special ribbon, and even florals for me to use for their photos. She gave her parents a custom printed handkerchief, and so many other thoughtful touches throughout the day.
We did their pictures at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and it’s one of my favorite churches in Mobile for outdoor photos. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Even though the wedding was in August (Mobile’s hottest month!), everyone was such a great sport. Yes, it was certainly hot… but Anna brought along fans to keep cool, and the light was amazing!!! It was worth being in the heat to have such pretty light. I hope when Anna and Kendall see their photos, they will feel the same way.
I have shot many receptions at the Battlehouse Hotel, but this was my first time capturing an event in the Moonlight Ballroom. It is massive, and the perfect space for a large guest list. It is absolutely stunning as well.
I loved that Anna and Kendall ended the evening with confetti. This was the best ending to a perfect day!
Anna and Kendall, I can’t put into words how much I enjoyed working with you both. I’m so excited you are finally married!!! I hope you enjoy your married life together, and hope it brings you so much joy as you look through your wedding photos.
