Sadie has to be one of the sweetest, kindest people I’ve ever met. I could tell she would be such a graceful bride from the moment I met her and she had a truly classic, elegant southern wedding that matched her personality perfectly. Bragan is truly a southern gentleman, but he also knows how to be the life of the party, which made for a very fun reception, full of singing and dancing.
When they first shared their vision for their wedding day with me, Sadie and Bragan were not planning to share a First Look, but after discussing timeline options, these two decided to change their plans to include a First Look as part of their day. I am seriously so happy that they chose to go this route because it allowed us to get some gorgeous portraits that showcased beautiful Mobile Bay in the background, something we couldn’t have done had we saved all portraits for after the ceremony. We were also concerned about rain on their wedding day, but were blessed with clear skies and slightly cooler temps.
My favorite part of the entire wedding day was part of the ceremony. Sadie had given me a heads-up that she had a secret surprise for Bragan, a gospel choir was there to perform “Oh Happy Day” for the recessional. After the bride and groom shared a kiss and began to recess down the aisle, the choir started singing. The joyful music filled the church and made my heart beat to it’s tune…I was practically in tears because it sounded so beautiful! I could instantly see the emotion on Bragan’s face and as he wiped tears from his eyes, Sadie was beaming. It was a perfect moment. I just love a good surprise.
This day was already pretty amazing from the start, but after some romantic “Just Married” portraits, we hopped in a luxury golf cart, personalized with a sign for the bride and groom and headed to the reception. To say that I loved the way The Venue was decorated for this wedding is an understatement. I was absolutely blown away by what the amazing team of vendors, assembled and led by Jenna Laine Weddings, did for this reception. I also cannot thank Jenna enough for how she always keeps everything running smoothly on wedding day. It is such a blessing to work with other vendors in this industry who love what they do!
As guests lined up for the bride and groom’s grand sparkler exit, I could tell that this was a party that no one wanted to end. Even though I was tired after a long day of shooting, it seemed to go by so fast. When I told Sadie and Bragan goodbye, just before getting in place to photograph their exit, I reminded them to enjoy the final moment of their wedding day as they made their way through the sparkler tunnel. I told them to feel free to surprise everyone on their way out with a kiss or whatever they wanted to do. Bragan replied, “Oh, she’s getting dipped.” I hurried outside and we not only got a dip, but a twirl and kiss also! Talk about a photographer’s dream!
