New Orleans Wedding

Mary Catherine and Joel had the picture-perfect New Orleans wedding with Brianna as the lead photographer. Although I wasn’t in attendance, New Orleans is totally calling me to with all of its old-world vibes and culture. If you’re from Mobile, you know that we have our own culture as well, so I love to do weddings in New Orleans for a change of pace and scenery all within dirivable distance from home.

The ceremony took place at Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church and the reception was held in the Riverview Room with a view of the French Quarter. The French Quarter to me is the place to be! And if you’ve never been to New Orleans then a beignet from The French Quarter should definitely be on your to-do list!

The bridal party got ready at the Westin where Brianna got some fun pictures of the bridesmaids with the bride and some sweet pictures of the bride and her mom and dad. I highly recommend a first look with the father of the bride. Just look at these father-daughter pictures. It is literally, the sweetest thing to witness and always warms my heart. First-looks are usually some of my favorite shots of the day.

Mary Catherine’s shoes 😍 Are we in love? All of her choices were spot-on including her choice of an up-do for her hair. We thought it might get rained out for the wedding, but it ended up holding off and we had mild weather for the entire day. Even so, her up-do was the perfect choice and her all-white bouquet totally brought back memories of my bouquet at my wedding. I’ve always been a sucker for a neutral color palette and her bouquet is very similar to what I chose for mine.

First look pictures at Audubon Park In New Orleans

Mary Catherine and Joel did a first-look at Audubon Park in New Orleans and the mossy oak trees have me feeling all the things. What is it about oaks that just get to me?! I’m obsessed with all things Southern so these trees just remind me of home and the scenery that I grew up around. Audubon Park is so romantic and definitely the perfect place for a first look! The sun even came out for a few photos and gave some beautiful light for the bride and groom pictures.

I love the classic white and black for bride and groom and the champagne color of the bridesmaid’s dresses. This definitely gave a classy vibe to the entire day and will stay in style for years to come.

The arch at Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church was such a beautiful element to the bride and groom pictures taken at the church. I love getting to shoot at churches because there is always unique character from each one that enhances the ceremony photos like tall ceilings, staircases, or in this case, a beautiful arch overhanging the happy couple.

The Riverview Room

The Riverview Room did not disappoint with its big windows overlooking the city of New Orleans. Everything from the cake, the view, and the get-away car were perfectly planned, and every detail was thought out to best represent Mary Catherine and Joel.

It was definitely a day to remember and what better way to document those memories than with these beautiful photos to tell this love story? This was such a dreamy wedding from start to finish and I know the bride and groom will look back at these photos and smile for years to come.

When life starts to speed by, take a moment. In all the craziness of work, school, family life. Whatever keeps you busy, make sure it doesn’t steal the time to remember. Remember the joy you had as you walked down the aisle to your groom, or the joy you had when watching your own son or daughter get married. Remember what it was like on that first date or the day you brought home a new baby or even fur baby. Life goes by in a hurry so don’t forget to be grateful for the past and grateful for where life is taking you next. ❤️
