Ashlyn and Ben were married in Mobile, Alabama and of course, being a local to Mobile, I’m just a little partial to my town. If you have never been to this part of the country, it’s definitely a must for your bucket list. Everything about Mobile screams “one of a kind” and any bride would be lucky to get married in our cute little city.
I had an instant connection with Ashlyn because she shares my oldest daughter’s name so of course, I was loving her from the beginning. Every element of this wedding was so beautiful and the detail shots taken at the beginning of the day had such a feminine and just downright pretty vibe. Ashlyn’s cascading bouquet was classy yet displayed such gorgeous colors! The bridesmaid’s dresses were such a pretty color and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before. I was totally living for this pinky-peach color.
One of my favorite parts of Ashlyn’s look was that she wore her mother’s wedding shoes. I have seen my fair share of brides wear their mom’s wedding dress but this was a first for me and I fell in love with the idea. These shoes are just as pretty today as I’m sure they were when her mom got married. Actual mother-daughter goals right here.
Ashlyn and Ben were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and ended the day with a ceremony at the Mobile Convention Center. I love that this wedding held a lot of firsts for me as I have never shot a reception at the convention center before. Ashlyn and her dad shared a sweet first-look moment and one I’m sure they will remember forever. The fact that he even had special wedding socks. Y’all I just loved it.
My favorite moment of the day had to be when the grandfathers of the bride and groom acted as ring bearers for the ceremony. I cannot even handle the cuteness. I absolutely adore this idea and hope it becomes a wedding trend ASAP.
The whole entire bridal party was truly so kind and it was truly a perfect wedding. After the ceremony, I was able to take a few pictures of the bride and groom, and once they finished their special dances, we were able to go to the rooftop for some stunning bride and groom pictures. This silhouette picture is one of my favorites from the day. I mean…😍😍😍
After it got dark and we finished up at the reception, Ashlyn and Ben left with a sparkler exit to start their new life together as husband and wife. If these pictures are any indication of their relationship, I’d say they are off to a great start to a wonderful life. I’m sure it won’t always be perfect or easy. It it ever? But the love between these two only shows me that when hard times come, their relationship will only grow stronger through any opposition that may come their way.
