The Venue at Dawes, Weddings

Meri + Jason

Meri and Jason had the perfect fall wedding! I love that Meri chose sunflowers because they only are in bloom for a short time here in Alabama. When they are in bloom, they give me all the fall vibes every time!
With a little touch of purple, the colors came together beautifully.

Meri and Jason’s family and friends were so sweet and supportive of this wedding and it made me so happy to see everyone join together to celebrate this happy couple. Speaking of family and friends, this little flower girl was so cute! I’ve never seen a happier little girl and I know she took her job very seriously.

The Venue at Dawes is in West Mobile and I love that it’s an unexpected location in the middle of town. It’s best feature is the oak trees and scenic, intimate setting.

Meri thought of everything when it came to sentimentalities. She brought a personalized ring box to the wedding, and she and Jason decided to have a sand ceremony after saying vows to one another. I love that they wrote their own vows. This is something not everyone chooses to do, but it comes straight from the heart. Writing your own vows requires a lot of vulnerability and courage to sum up what your spouse means to you in front of everyone you know and love, and I commend Meri and Jason for being able to do this.

After the ceremony, Meri and Jason did just married photos followed by a reception, including first dances and a festive Halloween-themed grooms cake. The bride’s cake was made completely out of doughnuts and I mean… who wouldn’t want one of those? 😍 The new bride and groom left as husband and wife with a sparkler exit. And now, the happily ever after begins. ❤️
