Gabrielle and Peyton were married at St. Joseph’s Chapel at Springhill College right here in Mobile, Alabama. Although Brianna now lives in Arkansas, I love that she is still able to come home and shoot weddings from time to time. As usual, she did an amazing job capturing every detail with ease.
St. Joseph’s Chapel is a Mobile favorite and the Springhill College campus is famous for its beautiful Avenue of the Oaks. I wouldn’t be a Mobile Wedding Photographer if I didn’t mention our stunning live oak trees at least once every blog post.
Gabrielle looked absolutely breathtaking and these pictures with her mom to start out the wedding day did not disappoint. I love to see a mother-daughter bond through the lens of my camera, and it never ceases to warm my heart. The bridal party got ready at the Malaga Inn in Downtown, Mobile. Gabrielle did a first look with her bridesmaids, and as I have mentioned before, this blue color has taken the wedding industry by storm this season. I have fallen in love with this color this summer and hope it sticks around for a while.
Gabrielle’s gorgeous bouquet could be added on to the list of favorites this summer. I loved it’s size and neutral color palette with pops of blue. Ron Barrett was the florist, and as usual, his florals stood out as timeless pieces that could only be described as downright dreamy.
Peyton thought he was also getting a first look, but Gabrielle had other plans. Instead of his beautiful bride tapping on his shoulder, he saw his best man instead- in a wedding dress no less! It was a hilarious moment, and one for the whole bridal party to look back on and laugh. You have to appreciate the sense of humor and full on commitment from this best man!
Peyton did finally get to see his bride as she walked down the aisle in St. Joseph’s Chapel. It brought instantaneous tears to Peyton’s eyes and I’m sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the house after watching the groom get emotional the way he did. There’s nothing I enjoy more as a wedding photographer than to see pure love shared between the look of a bride and groom as they see each other for the first time on their wedding day. People dream about that moment their entire lives so when it finally comes to fruition, sometimes tears are the only natural response.
After the ceremony, the bridal party participated in a second line, which is a New Orleans tradition that we Mobilians have adopted as our own hometown tradition. I love to capture anything that represents Southern culture so this made me happy to see them walk from the chapel to the reception at Stewartfield on campus.
Gabrielle and Peyton left time for Brianna to take some more photos of them right at golden hour which is always my favorite time to get more pictures of the bride and groom before the party really gets started. It is just one more chance to appreciate this special day before it comes to a close. It seems sad for a wedding day to come and go so quickly, but truthfully, it’s only the beginning for Gabrielle and Peyton and I can’t wait to see where this beautiful life takes them next.
