Lizy + Alan

When you have perfect weather for both the engagement and bridal sessions, you start to worry that wedding day will be a wash out. It just seems like a statistical odd, or something. When wedding week arrived for Lizy and Alan, I started checking the weather like a crazy person. “Please give us gorgeous weather the day of their wedding,” I prayed.

Lizy’s family has the most beautiful property and their wedding was to be held under the majestic oak trees that sit just to the side of her family’s home. It is a beautiful setting and I felt so lucky to get to shoot both her engagement and bridal sessions on the property. Fortunately, the day arrived and the weather was absolutely perfect! Like, “pinch me” perfect. When my second shooter, Jacob, and I arrived on the property, I could just tell it was going to be an amazing day. The property was turned into a wedding venue by the talented ladies at Jenna Laine Weddings and it was so perfect for what Lizy and Alan wanted for celebrating their special day with family and friends.

From the ceremony under the gorgeous oak trees, to roasting marshmallows for s’mores at the reception, this day was infused with Lizy and Alan’s personality. As lovely as everything was about this wedding, my favorite part of the day, hands down, was our “Just Married” portrait time during golden hour. When I was taking Lizy’s bridal portraits, the light in the pasture was sheer perfection and I told her that we had to do some portraits of her and Alan in the same spot on wedding day. I just hoped we’d be able to get to that spot before we lost the light because the sun sets so fast this time of year. Thanks to Lizy’s sister, Kate, who was our golf cart chauffeur, we made it to that spot in time and got some of my all-time favorite bride and groom portraits in that beautiful spot!

Lizy and Alan, I wish you many years of happiness together! Thank you for having me be part of your special day!
