Jennifer + Geoff’s New Year Eve Wedding

When Jennifer, co-owner of Ellen Jay Stylish Events + Sweets, called and said she had a crazy idea and wanted to know if I was game to join in, I had no idea what she was going to propose. As we talked, Jennifer shared that she was in the midst of planning her dream wedding and she wanted to know if Jennie Tewell Photography wanted to be part of her big day. The wedding plans sounded amazing! Some of the most sought after vendors in Mobile were involved, many of whom had been part of past Jennie Tewell Photography weddings, and the wedding would be on New Years Eve (so awesome!). Of course we wanted to be part of all the fun! 🙂

Jennifer and Geoff are such a sweet couple and their love story is as equally endearing as their individual personalities. We just love the people they are individually, but, as a couple, they just have that extra special something that tells you these two were meant to find one another. Needless to say, it was perfectly fitting that they chose New Year’s Eve for their wedding day. After months of planning, the vision for Jennifer and Geoff’s big day came together and the result was BEYOND AMAZING! So many talented and creative people brought this wedding to life. The Pillars was the most perfect setting for this formal wedding. The mix of historic architecture, vintage tile and stained glass, combined with the crisp white walls and wood accents, provides a blank canvas for any bride to personalize. We just drooled over Jennifer’s color palette of gold, silver and black…such a classy combo and perfect for the festive time of year. And don’t even get us started about the bride’s room at the Pillars…we want to take that room and its gorgeous window light with us to EVERY wedding! It’s just that awesome! The rentals provided by SOHO Events & Rentals enhanced everything from the reception tent to the table settings. Romantic florals by Ron Barrett and Dana Goodman added a soft, feminine balance to the glitz and sparkle. Soiree Signatures’ beautiful stationary designs and calligraphy were showcased on menus, place cards and favor tags. For dinner, guests enjoyed decadent hors d’oeuvres and entrees by The Noble South. The fabulous dessert table, provided by Ellen Jay, included an array of sweets from cookies, to cake pops and three decadent cakes. Every single vendor was such a dream to work with and we just felt so thankful to be part of it all.

This EPIC wedding was the perfect way to end a fabulous year and to kick off 2017! My associate wedding photographer, Elizabeth, and my regular second shooter, Brianna, and I all shot this wedding together. All three of us working together is seriously the best! We have so much fun shooting together! Since Elizabeth and I are both lead shooting JTP weddings (often on the same dates), it’s rare for us to get to shoot together. Since this was such a big wedding, with many details and moments to capture, I decided it was definitely a job for the three of us to work on together. We just kept pinching ourselves the whole day to make sure it was all real because everything was just that beautiful!!! We were also fortunate to work alongside the amazingly talented Cheree, of Lifehouse Wedding Films, throughout the day.
