Grand Hotel Wedding – Point Clear, Alabama – St. Francis – Tyler + Jacob

Tyler and Jacob’s wedding was last weekend and it started off with some photos of the invitation suites. Annabel’s did a fantastic job with the invitations and Tyler made sure everything was planned perfectly. She thought of everything! The details included the most beautiful bouquet created by Rosebud Flowers, custom ring boxes, a monogrammed sealer, and even perfume specifically bought just for the wedding day.

This is so cool because scent is the number one memory trigger out of all of our senses. Every time Tyler and Jacob smell this perfume, it will flood them with memories from their wedding day and bring them right back to these exact moments.

Blair Events planned the wedding alongside Tyler and Jacob and she remembered everything! The most important people to hire, in my opinion, are your wedding planner and your wedding photographer. Shameless plug, but it’s so true. Blair made sure there was plenty of time for everything in the schedule which ultimately gave me the time I needed to photograph Tyler and Jacob. You can never have too many pictures so I was so happy with the amount of pictures we were able to give the bride and groom.

Tyler did a first look with her bridesmaids and her father. Afterwards, Tyler and Jacob shared an intimate first look at the Grand Hotel where the bridal party got ready. My favorite part about the first look was that it was painted live! Yes, my friend Melissa is a live painter and seeing it done at the first look was something new for me and I absolutely loved it.

It was a beautiful summer wedding with absolutely no rain! That’s something you don’t see every day as an Alabama wedding photographer. It was hot, but it helped that we had the most cooperative bridal party! Even the flower girl was seriously so easy to work with! It made my job that much more enjoyable to see how happy they were to celebrate this special day with Tyler and Jacob. Side note- the bridesmaid’s pale pink dresses were to die for! I’m obsessed with all things pastel and it was seriously the perfect summer color.

The bridal party took a trolley from the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama to the ceremony site at St. Francis which is just a few minutes away from the hotel. These two locations are two of my favorites to shoot weddings at. I never get tired of this church. The doors were decorated beautifully with greenery and wreaths which welcomed every guest to the ceremony.

After the ceremony ended, there was a cocktail hour. This is every wedding photographer’s dream because it gives plenty of time to get all the reception details, which sometimes are hard to come by without wedding guests in them. The cake was stunning with its cascading flowers down the front and back. I love that Tyler and Jacob incorporated their love of Star Wars throughout the evening. The groom’s cake was a themed cake and the lightsabers along with cowboy hats eventually came out in the reception as well. It was a blast and made the whole evening so much fun. Another thing I loved about the reception is that they had a monogrammed dance floor. This bridal party loved to dance and it created the perfect vibe for the reception.

Love can be remembered in many ways. For some, it’s the smell of a perfume. It could be a photo from a wedding, a journal entry or the sight of a mother holding her baby for the first time. Maybe for some, love is remembered by re-visiting a place that holds special meaning, and for others it’s a look or a spoken word that in a moment brings back a flood of memories. No matter how you remember love, the important thing is that it’s remembered at all. Love is our greatest gift. May we savor it, may we cherish it, and may we remember it forever.
