Every community along 30A has its own unique charm, and that’s what makes sessions here so much fun. For Ashlyn and Dakota’s engagement photos, we explored both Seaside and Alys Beach at sunrise, giving them two completely different looks in one morning.
The Charm of Seaside
Seaside feels like the heart of 30A. Between the colorful cottages, cobblestone streets, and coastal town vibe, it’s full of personality. At sunrise, the streets are quiet and the shoreline is wide open, which gave us the perfect backdrop for playful, natural portraits. The soft morning light highlighted the pastel colors of Seaside, and it felt like we had the whole town to ourselves.
The Elegance of Alys Beach
Just a short drive away, Alys Beach has a completely different feel. With its whitewashed architecture, winding walkways, and Mediterranean-inspired design, it offers an editorial, elevated look that contrasts beautifully with Seaside’s colorful charm. At sunrise, the glow bouncing off the white walls created the most timeless portraits—clean, chic, and romantic.
Adding Creativity to Engagement Photos
One of my favorite things about this session was Ashlyn’s love for artsy photography. She was all about experimenting with creative blur and unique settings, which gave us the chance to create portraits that felt modern, artistic, and personal to them. These images captured not only their love, but also their willingness to try something new—and I’m obsessed with how they turned out.
