I have anticipated Kira and Jonathan’s wedding for such a long time now. Kira’s vision of her wedding venue being at the Grand Marriot in Point Clear, Alabama, actually began when she saw me photographing my sister-in-law’s wedding as her Grand Marriot Wedding Photographer, there back in May of last year. She had asked my wonderful mother-in-law for my name at that time, and the rest is history.
The day before the wedding, I was worried that we weren’t going to be able to get any outdoor photos because when we checked the weather forecast for the wedding day, there was an 80-90% chance of rain ALL day. However, throughout the day of the wedding, the weather forecast kept getting pushed back farther and farther, and we managed to get some truly beautiful outdoor photos, even with the tropical-storm-level winds we were experiencing!
Kira’s wedding planner, Jacquie, who owns Chic Weddings by Jacqueline, was absolutely amazing! I’ve done several weddings with Jacquie, and she’s always such a joy to work with; she never ceases to amaze me. The wedding was originally planned as an outdoor wedding, but with the rainy weather forecast, Kira and Jacquie decided it’d be best to move the reception indoors. They were able to make this decision so calmly and collectively, and every last detail was still so beautifully planned out, which allowed for everything to run so smoothly.
The ceremony was absolutely gorgeous! It was truly a fairytale; the way Kira and Jonathan looked into each others’ eyes as they said “I do,” everyone in the room could feel their love for each other. After the ceremony, the rain began to come down hard, but only lasted for a little bit. During the reception, we were able to fulfill Kira’s most desired request by capturing some amazingly beautiful sunset photos. They turned out so absolutely gorgeous. It was a perfect way to end such a special day for these two! Kira and Jonathan were so much fun to work with; just being around them, I could feel how much they truly love each other, and I know the future holds nothing but great things for these two!
